One of the most important books I’ve ever read. Farrow’s scathing analysis of mainstream media (Specifically NBC) and their relentless attempts to cover up for and protect a Hollywood [now defunct and CONVICTED] kingpin is maddening. What is even more infuriating, frightening, and totally and completely heartbreaking is the treatment, abuse, harassment, and assault of the women in these pages [and COUNTLESS others].
While the focal point of this book is Harvey Weinstein and his victims, the underlying theme throughout is the victimization of women and the subsequent victim blaming/shaming across the board. This doesn’t just happen to women in Hollywood, it happens in workplaces and homes EVERYWHERE, it happens to women in all walks of life, it’s happened to someone you know, maybe it’s even happened to you.
I encourage everyone to read this and further, to take stock of ways you can stand up for & protect yourself and all women and help eliminate the threat of sexual violence.
